Multiple locations make up the 18th Judicial Circuit, which includes the Seminole County Clerk of Court. The Civil Courthouse originally housed civil and criminal courts and was built in the early 1970s. The Criminal Justice Courthouse was completed in 2004. The Juvenile Justice Center opened in 2001.

District Court
Seminole County is part of the Middle District of Florida for the United States District Court. The Orlando Division includes Brevard, Seminole, Volusia, Orange and Osceola counties.
Circuit Court
Seminole County courts are under the jurisdiction of the 18th Judicial Circuit of Florida. A trial court administrator is responsible for the administration of the courts. District courts function as courts of first instance with general jurisdiction. Florida has 20 judicial districts.
Magistrate Court
In Seminole County, judges have the authority to hold hearings, hear testimony and evaluate evidence. In Florida, judges must be licensed attorneys in good standing with at least five years of legal experience.
Civil Court
Civil courts hearing cases that are not unlawful in nature and generally involve financial or property disputes between two people. However, there are several courts that hear different types of civil cases.
Veterans Court
Veterans Treatment Court is a special program created to help veterans and active-duty military personnel charged with misdemeanor or non-violent crimes. Offenders must have a service-connected mental illness, substance abuse disorder, or traumatic brain injury. Most third-degree, non-violent, non-traffic felonies and misdemeanors are eligible in Veterans Court.
Drug Court
Adult drug court provides an opportunity for non-violent offenders. The program lasts from 6 to 12 months. Offenders with a criminal record or history of selling or trafficking drugs are not eligible to participate. Other second and third degree crimes may be considered with the approval of the District Attorney’s Office.
